Family of five sitting together in fall leaves beside the creek at Mingo Creek Park

Peters Township families have quietly excellent options: Peterswood Park’s tree-lined paths, the Arrowhead Trail cutting through McMurray, and, ten minutes south, Mingo Creek County Park, where two historic covered bridges sit over a lazy creek like they were built for photographs.

We photograph the way Peters families actually spend their evenings: a walk on the trail, kids on bikes, a picnic blanket in the field. Sessions are unhurried and lightly directed: enough guidance that everyone knows what to do with their hands, enough freedom that the photos still look like your family.

Spring dogwoods at Peterswood, summer evenings on the Arrowhead Trail, October at the covered bridges: every season here has a signature session. Tell us which one sounds like your family and we’ll build the plan, location and timing included.

Fall Family Photos in Peters Township

Fall is the most requested season here, and for good reason. Mid to late October brings peak color to Mingo Creek and Peterswood Park, and the low evening sun turns the leaves and meadows gold. October weekends are the first dates to fill, so if you want fall photos, reach out a few weeks ahead and we’ll hold a golden-hour slot for your family.

Family sessions starting at $450. Most families invest $450–$650 depending on session length, location, and gallery delivery.

Peters Township Session FAQs

What's the best spot in Peters Township for family photos?

Peterswood Park covers the classic bases beautifully, but if you're up for a ten-minute drive, Mingo Creek's covered bridges and creekside meadows are the standout, especially in fall. The Arrowhead Trail is perfect for families who want their session to feel like a normal Saturday bike ride.

Where should we take fall family photos in Peters Township?

Mingo Creek County Park is our first pick for fall photos. The covered bridges, the creek, and the wooded hillsides usually hit peak color in mid to late October. Peterswood Park is the closer-to-home option, with tree-lined paths that turn gold around the same time. The photos on this page are from fall sessions at Mingo Creek.

Do you photograph families in McMurray, or just Peters Township proper?

Both. McMurray is part of Peters Township, and we photograph throughout the township plus nearby Venetia and Mingo Creek without any travel fee.

When's the best light for an outdoor session here?

The last hour before sunset. Peterswood's fields and Mingo's meadows both face beautifully into evening light. Morning sessions work well for young kids, when the parks are quiet and the light is soft until about 9:30.

Can grandparents or pets join the session?

Please bring them. Multi-generation photos are often the ones families treasure most, and well-behaved dogs are always welcome at the parks we use.
